SolarFlex Inc. was established to provide solar hot air systems for both heating purposes and food drying. For solar space heating, the company is currently in a pre-commercial R & D phase, developing solar air heating systems for residential and commercial uses. Because of the need for continued testing and development in the Canadian winter environment, this phase will continue into 2010.

Pictured here are two prototypes currently being tested at our Ottawa workshop. During sunshine, these units provide auxiliary hot air heating into any building. While these are wall-mounted, they can also be roof-mounted to optimise sun exposure. Heating output readings have exceeded 1.7 kW (thermal) at peak times for a panel of 2 sq. meters. These will operate with an AC fan or with an optional DC fan powered by a small photovoltaic panel. In 2010 SolarFlex will develop strategic partnerships in Canada and USA while continuing to support existing partnerships internationally.
